Based out of San Diego, California, Stone Horse is your local proverbial rock band with a kick!
It happened one fine summer day, after a chance meeting at Windansea Beach in 2009 when co-founders Carlos Rodriguez (guitarist) and Danielle Spade (lead vocals) decided to put their musical heads together and create what later became known as Stone Horse.
They wrote songs reminiscent of their early 70’s British and American influences. A catchy, driving 10 song CD entitled "GRIT" resulted and was released in February of 2014. GRIT was nominated "Best Rock Album" in 2014 by The San Diego Music Awards, and their southern rocker ballad "Remember When" received a nomination in 2015 by The Indie Music Channel and is in the top 3 nomination for Global Eye Best Song by The Colorado Rock Awards to be held in Denver, CO in September.
Not unlike the neighborhoods that make up their city, the band’s orthcoming second full-length studio release, "Nobody Rides for Free", is a musical melting pot blending influences of Blues, Southern, Ska and even a bit o’ Country twang! However, doing what they do best at the end of the day, the result is good old rock n roll! Their just released first single, "Look What I’ve Done" is to be followed by a music video slated for release in April.
Backed by Dave Steinman on drums, Arthur Nobilette on guitar and Jeffrey Bloom on bass, look for Stone Horse getting out of the stable and out on the road! For concert information, photos and interviews go to www.stonehorse.net Thank you!
