San Diego rockers Stone Horse are getting ready to saddle up and get back into the recording studio to cut the follow-up to their well-received debut album, “Grit”.
The backbone of this album is the songwriting team of founding members Carlos Rodriguez and Danielle Spade, whose songs were nominated for “Best Rock Album” at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards. The new, yet-to-be-titled, album will also feature songs penned by bassist Al Venditti and guitarist Arthur Nobilette. All of this under the watchful eye and steady, persistent rhythms of drummer Dave Steinman, the official time keeper for Stone Horse.
Besides their particular brand of lyric driven rockers, the band has ventured outside the envelope on this new disc; on more than one occasion they surprise the listener with melodies and lyrics with rock and blues infused rhythms recalling another time and place.
We’re proud to call Paul Waroff’s Big Fish Recording in Encinitas, CA “the place that dreams are made of”. We’re to be engineered, and chaperoned, by the talented Matt Van Allen. And due to the fact that Big Fish is completely solar powered, this will be a “Green” album! Look for this latest Stone Horse release this coming Fall.
Finally, please check out the band’s website, stonehorse.net, for the latest news and upcoming gigs so you can see us at our best, live!
All the best!
Carlos, Danielle, Arthur, Al and Dave!
